Great News!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got some wonderful news!
The Random Daughter, who got married in July, just stopped in with her husband after visiting my waste of skin mother in-law. They are staying the night before heading home (a three hour drive),
The RD took Mrs Random outside to “help her with something” and when they returned Mrs Random said, “Hey there, Grandpa.”
My little girl is pregnant. The baby is due in May.
After hugs and tears I got the news that that air thief my wife has the misfortune to call a mother (henceforth known as The Evil Bìtçh or TEB) heard the news first. Her first suggestion was abortion.
I am very proud that I did not go ballistic and tear out of the house to hunt the evil bìtçh down and strangle it with my bear hands. I just sat there quietly and heard the RD tell me that she told TEB that she was like hëll going to kill her baby. I am so dámnëd proud right now I could burst!
This will not be an easy path for my daughter or my son in-law and they both know it. They are both 18. The daughter is entering college this year and her husband is looking for work in the trades. They are both broke, as am I. We are all going to have to dig pretty hard to make this work, but dig we will. We will also probably swallow our pride (or at least mine) and go to the Church for help as well. Your prayers for my family would be appreciated.
It is kind of ironic that when The Random Daughter arrived I was just about to comment on a post at Wizbang concerning abortion.
I wondered, reading Candy’s tale, what I would say or do if my daughter was going to get an abortion. I decided that I would try my best to talk her out of it. I would have printed out Candy’ story as well as those of other women who had an abortion and suffered for years over it. I would tell her that, while God may forgive her and I may forgive her, it will be a long, long time before she forgives herself if she kills her baby. There are other options. Adoption is a good one; I would rather never see my grandchild than have it dead. Another is to take on the challenge, the pain, the joyous ecstasy of being a parent. You can get all the help you need if you only ask.
I had all this typed up and ready to post when Mrs Random broke the big news to me and mooted my worries.
I’m going to be a grandfather!
Now, If you’ll excuse me, I am going to go cry.
